Cliveden House! A beautiful, Historic Trust Property and Hotel & Spa. Accommodation will be provided on Friday 1st August and Saturday 2nd August through Sunday late morning, August 3rd for all guests. https://www.clivedenhouse.co.uk

Cliveden House is situated in Taplow, Berkshire, about 45 kilometers (30 miles) from central London. By car or taxi, it should take approximately 45 minutes to 60 minutes depending on traffic. Heathrow airport is even closer to Cliveden. Approximately 25 minutes by car. If you are traveling by plane, we highly recommend flying into Heathrow Airport due to its close proximity to the venue. Taxis / Ubers are readily available at Heathrow and accept both cash (GBP) and credit cards.

Traveling by car via the M4 or M40 is the fastest way to get to Cliveden House from central London. If traveling by Uber or taxi, the cost is approximately £75-£100. Alternatively, if you wish to travel by train, we recommend taking the Great Western Railway or the Elizabeth Line tube from London Paddington Station to Maidenhead Railway Station. Ubers are available at Maidenhead - only a short 15-minute drive to Cliveden House. Train tickets can be booked via the "Trainline" App or at the station.

Formal check in at Cliveden House is at 3:00 PM on Friday 1st August. However, the hotel staff will be happy to receive guests earlier in the day depending on their travel schedule. They will make every effort to have your room ready as early as possible. Guests are encouraged to make use of the spa, gym, and pool (as well as the other hotel services such as lunch or tea) prior to check in. Yes! As of January 2025, US citizens traveling to the UK for short visits, tourism, business or our wedding (!) - including those just passing through UK airports - will need an Electronic Travel Authorization or an ETA. You do NOT need an ETA if you have a UK visa or legal residency in the UK or the Republic of Ireland. All of the details, including how to apply for an ETA, can be found in the link below. It's fast and easy and will be electronically linked to your passport. Once you apply, you will likely get a decision within 3 business days but we would recommend applying as soon as able to avoid any stress!

Cliveden House will provide all transportation to each event throughout the wedding weekend. If desired, the hotel can arrange collection from Heathrow or the train by private car. For those traveling by personal car, there is plenty of parking at the hotel. While Cliveden House sits on more than 300 acres and is not within walking distance to local attractions, the hotel will be happy to arrange taxis or private hire cars should you wish to explore the area. With regard to your arrival into the UK, we would recommend taking a taxi / Uber to Cliveden House - especially if you are traveling into Heathrow Airport as it is a short, 25 minute drive to the hotel.

Transportation will be provided to all guests. We have booked coach travel to the church in Bray for our 2:30 PM ceremony. Please be ready to depart at 1:30 PM from the hotel entrance. Both Cliveden House and St. Michael's Church are steps away from the River Thames. Weather permitting, we have booked a boat, complete with champagne and canapés, to return our guests from St. Michael's Church to Cliveden House for the reception, dinner, and dancing! Please share with us if you do not wish to travel by boat and require alternative transportation.

On Friday 1st August, we will be hosting a casual rehearsal dinner at The Cottage at Cliveden House. Smart casual attire is recommended. For those who will enjoy a stroll along the property, please note, the grounds are mostly grass with gravel walkways so sensible shoes are encouraged! For the church ceremony and reception on Saturday 2nd August, formal attire is recommended. Business suits or morning suits for the gents. Formal dresses for the ladies, hats and fascinators for optional fun! Gentlemen - morning suits are welcome, but not required. For those interested in renting a morning suit, we have secured a group booking at Oliver Brown in London. Please see the Q&A below for more detail. For the farewell lunch on Sunday 3rd August, casual attire is recommended. We would love to continue the celebrations and have booked the Bel and Dragon Pub in Cookham from 2:00 PM where we will provide lunch and drinks. Jeans are perfectly acceptable!

Gentlemen, morning dress is welcome but not required! If you would like to rent a morning suit, we have set up a group booking under "Michael Scholes" at Oliver Brown in London. The approximate cost of the rental is £185 for a 3-piece suit which will include a morning jacket, trousers, and double breasted waist coat (please note, the reservation will not include a shirt or tie). We have organized a delivery service to deliver the suits to Cliveden House on Friday 1st August and returned on Monday 4th August. If this is of interest, please reach out to Hire@oliverbrownlondon.com directly to provide your measurements and secure your reservation. Please reference "Michael Scholes" when speaking to the Oliver Brown representatives. They will be able to provide guidance on sizing but we have also provided a "Sizing / Measurements Guide" on the Photos section of our website. Guests will be able to enjoy a hotel breakfast on Sunday morning, August 3rd, prior to checkout at 11:00 AM. If you are still in town, we would love to raise one more glass with you and bid farewell at one of our favorite pubs, Bel and The Dragon, in nearby Cookham. Food and drink will be provided from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Transportation will be provided and details will be added shortly!
